Clancy

"Clancy" is the seventh studio album by American musical duo Twenty One Pilots, release on May 24, 2024, through Fueled by Ramen. Named after the protagonist from their fifth album "Trench" (2018), this visual album will conclude the band's nearly decade-long conceptual series. Continuing the narrative set in the metaphorical world of "Trench" and the dystopian city of "Dema," "Clancy" chronicles the titular character's journey back to Trench following his escape from Dema, now empowered by a "miraculous power" obtained in their sixth album, "Scaled and Icy" (2021).

Frontman Tyler Joseph wrote the album, with production handled alongside frequent collaborator Paul Meany. Speculation about the album culminated in its announcement on February 29, 2024. Leading up to the release, four singles were dropped: "Overcompensate" on the announcement day, "Next Semester" on March 27, "Backslide" on April 25, and "The Craving" on May 22. The fourth single's release included a "Single Version" differing in instrumentation from the on-album "Jenna's Version."
