Bertan Jafer (born January 12, 1995) was born in Hackney, London, England. He is a British rapper, singer and songwriter. He is professionally known as B Young. B Young initially honed his skills as a sound engineer before transitioning into the spotlight as a rapper, singer, and songwriter. His early years in the music industry were spent crafting a distinctive melodic rap sound that would become his signature.

B Young's debut single, "London Boy," was released on March 10, 2017, marking the beginning of his musical journey. Notably, he showcased his talent by remixing UK rapper Dave's hit track "Wanna Know" on April 6, 2017. Following this, he dropped "Cash Flow" on May 7, 2017, solidifying his presence in the industry.

However, it was the release of "Been Wavey" on August 25, 2017, that garnered significant attention, accumulating over 11 million views on YouTube. B Young, in an interview with Capital XTRA, expressed his belief that "Been Wavey" surpassed the success of his breakthrough single, "Jumanji," as both were recorded and created together.

In 2018, B Young achieved chart success with his debut studio single, "Jumanji," entering the UK chart at number 64 and peaking at number 13. The following releases, "079ME" and "Juice," also made their mark on the UK charts, with the former reaching number 23. In July 2019, B Young dropped "Gucci Demon," which peaked at number 44 in the UK charts.

While 2019 was relatively quiet for the artist, he returned in full force in 2020, pledging to release music more frequently. On February 13, 2020, he unveiled "Wine," followed by "Want2" on March 19, 2020. Further solidifying his commitment to a consistent release schedule, B Young dropped "Last Night" featuring Tion Wayne in August 2020, showcasing his evolving artistry and dedication to the music scene.
