Rupinder Kaur Sandhu (born December 18, 1993) was born in Mohali, Punjab, India. She is an Indian Punjabi singer in the Punjabi music industry. She is professionally known as Baani Sandhu. She developed a keen interest in music from a young age and used to participate in cultural activities during her school and college days. Despite her passion for singing, Baani's parents were against her pursuing a career in music.

Baani Sandhu's talent for singing was evident from her numerous solo and group Giddha competition wins, which she took to the national level. Alongside her passion for music, Baani pursued her studies and completed her schooling from Govt. Model Sr Sec School, Sector 37-D, Chandigarh, before attending Punjabi University, Patiala, where she earned her graduation degree.

During her time in university, Baani Sandhu worked as a teacher, teaching school students Physics and Mathematics. In addition to this, she also prepared for competitive examinations and successfully passed them. Despite her academic achievements, Baani never lost her love for music and continued to post small videos of herself singing on social media platforms.

Baani Sandhu's big break in the Punjabi music industry came when Jassi Lohka, a famous Punjabi lyricist, recognized her talent and offered her work on his songs. In April 2018, Baani made her debut with the song "Fauji Di Bandook," which was released under the Humble Music Record Label. Following this, Baani released hit songs such as "Gunday Ik Vaar Fer," "Sarpanchi," and "Affair," which featured Dilpreet Dhillon.

Jassi Lohka wrote the majority of Baani Sandhu's songs, and in 2019, she released the super hit song "8 Parche," featuring Gur Sidhu. The song received a massive response from the audience, with over 500 million views on YouTube. Baani Sandhu also collaborated with other popular Punjabi singers such as Jass Bajwa for the song "Photo" and Mankirt Aulakh for "Bell Bottom."
