HAIM is an American rock band from Los Angeles, made up of three sisters: Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim. Their last name, Haim, means "life" in Hebrew. The sisters grew up surrounded by music, playing instruments from a young age in a family band called Rockinhaim, led by their parents, Moti and Donna. Este and Danielle briefly played with the pop group Valli Girls in 2005, but the real start of their career came years later.

In 2007, the sisters formed HAIM, but at first, they didn’t see it as a serious career. Danielle, in particular, spent time touring as a guitarist for artists like Jenny Lewis and Julian Casablancas, gaining valuable experience. By 2012, the sisters decided to make HAIM a full-time project, and that’s when things took off. They released their first EP, Forever, which got a lot of attention after their performance at the South by Southwest festival. This led to them signing with Polydor Records and getting management under Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

Their debut album, Days Are Gone, came out in 2013 and was a major success, hitting number one in the UK and receiving critical praise worldwide. The album's blend of rock, pop, and R&B influences caught the attention of both fans and critics, and the group won multiple "best of" awards by the end of the year. They were also nominated for Best New Artist at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

HAIM continued their success with their second album, Something to Tell You (2017), and their third, Women in Music Pt. III (2020), which earned them Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance for the song "The Steps." Known for their energetic live shows and unique blend of rock, pop, and classic sounds, HAIM has become one of the most exciting bands in modern music.
