Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, better known as YG (short for Young Gangsta), is an American rapper born on March 9, 1990, in Compton, California. He gained attention in 2010 with his debut single, Toot It and Boot It featuring Ty Dolla Sign, which reached number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100. This early success led to a deal with Def Jam Recordings, where he released popular mixtapes like The Real 4Fingaz and Just Re’d Up.

In 2013, YG joined Young Jeezy's label, CTE World, and released the hit song My N**a* featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, peaking at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100.
