"Pain Paints Paintings" is the debut studio album by a Canadian-Nigerian rapper Dax, it's was released on October 15, 2021, through Living Legends Entertainment. The album came after his 2020 EP, I’ll Say It For You. It includes 16 tracks, with production mainly handled by LexNour Beats, alongside additional producers like Pendo46, Raspo, and Trademark. The album features guest appearances from artists such as Clever, Nasty C, Tom MacDonald, Yelawolf, Lecrae, and Snow Tha Product, adding variety and depth to the project.

The lead single from the album, “Propaganda,” featuring Tom MacDonald, was released on September 17, 2021. This was followed by “40 Days 40 Nights,” featuring Nasty C, which came out on October 6, 2021. Dax announced on his YouTube channel on October 11 that the album was complete, shortly before revealing its title, cover art, and release date of October 14. The album cover was designed by Jerell Stanley.
